Professional liability insurance insures a person and/or an entity against claims made by third parties (clients, patients, customers, etc.), alleging negligence in the rendering of, or the failure to render, professional services. Professional services will be defined by the scope of practice of your license, certification or registration for professional services you render to clients or patients.
NOTE: The claims scenarios summarized are offered only as examples. The examples are not intended to establish any standards of care or to serve as legal advice appropriate for any particular factual situations. Coverage depends on the actual facts of each case and the terms, conditions and exclusions of each individual policy.
